Abstract :
This study aimed to identify and evaluate the factors influencing leadership self-development among managers of knowledge-based companies in Tehran. The research is applied in nature and employs a mixed sequential exploratory design for data collection. In the qualitative phase, participants consisted of experts, professionals, and specialists in the field, selected through purposive sampling, with a total of 15 individuals. The statistical population for the quantitative phase included managers from knowledge-based companies in Tehran, totaling 1,716 in 2022. A sample of 314 managers was selected using random sampling and Cochran’s formula, with 216 valid questionnaires collected. Qualitative data were gathered through semi-structured interviews, while quantitative data were collected using a researcher-developed questionnaire. To ensure the validity and reliability of the qualitative data, the criteria outlined by Guba and Lincoln were applied. For the quantitative part, face validity and Cronbach's alpha coefficient were used to assess validity and reliability, yielding a Cronbach's alpha of 0.78 for the research instrument. The qualitative data were analyzed using the three-step coding method of Strauss and Corbin, while descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, median, minimum, and maximum) and inferential statistics (confirmatory factor analysis) were applied to the quantitative data using SPSS-23 and Amos 24.0 software. The qualitative findings revealed that the factors influencing leadership self-development encompass individual, organizational, and environmental factors, each with several sub-components. The quantitative findings confirmed all the identified factors.
